CPCS Recertification 1: Ethics for Supervisors

October 21, 2027

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM EST

Location: Virtual

6 Credit Hours (NBCC)

Just as ethics are important in the counseling process, they are important in the supervision process as well. There is an additional layer of ethics for supervisors as they are required to maintain ethical practice in supervision sessions, while also making sure the supervisee is maintaining ethical practice with clients as well. In this recertification workshop, participants will discuss current supervision ethics codes, discuss ethically challenging case studies, and engage in techniques to help supervisees maintain ethical practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify current ethical standards and responsibilities applicable to clinical supervisors, including the supervisor’s role in promoting and monitoring ethical practice by supervisees.
  • Analyze ethically challenging supervision case studies and evaluate appropriate responses to common ethical dilemmas involving supervisors, supervisees, and clients.
  • Apply practical supervisory strategies and techniques to support supervisees in recognizing, preventing, and addressing ethical concerns in their clinical practice.

If you do not attend the training, the materials from the training will not be able to be provided to you.
