The Art of Case Conceptualization: Moving from Client Stories to Clinical Strategy
January 22, 2027
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: TBD
5 Credit Hours (NBCC)
Presenter: Stacie Norman, PhD, LPC, CPCS
Every client brings a story—but effective counseling requires more than listening to that story. Counselors must be able to identify patterns, understand contributing factors, and develop a meaningful plan that guides treatment. Case conceptualization serves as the bridge between client stories and therapeutic interventions. Join us as we practice the art of case conceptualization through evaluating stories to find identifying patterns and contributing factors, and develop treatment goals and evidence-based interventions.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the key components of an effective case conceptualization, including presenting concerns, patterns, contributing factors, strengths, and family history.
- Develop a comprehensive case conceptualization by organizing client information and identifying patterns, and hypotheses..
- Implement a clinical strategy by developing treatment goals and selecting appropriate interventions based on the client’s presenting needs and conceptual framework.
